Here we are!!

A new beginning!! Sounds like a Star Wars title... In fact I believe it is :)

Starting a new business is exciting stuff. The background things to think about and do are daunting. Hopes are high! Experience is low, well at least the business end.

Helen earned her Associates Degree in Interior Design from Alexandria Technical College in 2012 and has been making great strides ever since. While working for a local design studio she saw a need for small scale drafting services. People who aren't big enough to hire their own architectural draftsperson or people who have a seasonal influx of clients who want a whole house remodel and can't keep up. (Thats a hard life isn't it... too many clients :-) ). In fact drafting does take time away from designers doing what they love to do... design. And it takes time away from builders doing what they love to do... build. Hence, we started our own contract drafting service..

tadaa !! Design Facets was born. Focusing on the small folk, we provide the professional services as the large companies on a one off basis. So why the name? We have learnt over the years that the field of Interior Design is much more than paint colors and light fixtures. From fabrics for the sofa, walls, and floors to hard surfaces, tile, flooring and ceilings to moving walls, electrical fixtures, plumbing and making sure that work flow in a room or house actually works, logically and feasibly.

There are many facets to a great design. Just like a diamond!

Oh and who am I? The husband who is just as engaged in the field of Interior Design, just not formally trained. Helen comes up with the plans for our house, I make them reality. I'm not a contractor. I am a DIY'r with a bit of knowledge and a lot of practice.
